The maintenance blocking is used to block a room or a venue for maintenance/repair purposes.
This program purely blocks the room or the venue. An additional program linked to the task management system and inventory will record progress as well as materials used.

A room or venue can always be blocked for maintenance, therefore it can happen that a room or venue has been assigned. Different people must be notified by email when this happens, there are several system settings that will be used for this purpose.

To Block A Room(s)

  1. Click on the "add new record".
  2. Maintenance From and Until: Select the date of the maintenance.
  3. Maintenance Type: Select the type of maintenance.
    1. Out Of Service -Out of Service (OOS) is used to place a room in short term maintenance mode. Out of Service rooms do not deduct from inventory, which means the room will still show in the statistics as a valid room to be sold
    2. Out Of Order -Out of Order (OOO) is typically used when a room is being renovated, undergoing repairs, or cannot be used. Out of Order works the same as Out of Service except that rooms placed Out of Order no longer figure into availability statistics, which means that rooms placed Out of Order are unavailable to sell, and are deducted from inventory.
    3. Out Of Inventory - OOI (Out of Inventory)is a more or less permanent block on a room. This room is deducted from the total room inventory. An example of an OOI room is a room that has been converted to an office, storage, or pantry.
    4. Return To Owner - Back to Owner is a permanent block and happens in a so-called buy and leaseback construction whereby the rooms are not owned by the property but by individual owners. When one of these owners claims back the room, the room should be blocked as "Return to Owner". The room is deducted from the total room inventory. Therefore the effect is the same as OOI and OOO, the differences are mainly statistical
  4. Reason: Enter the reason for maintenance.
  5. Filters: You can search the room by accommodation, By cluster, or by floor. You can also search by room number.
  6. Select the room that you want to block or, select the box at the top to select all.
