A BDI (Breakdown item) is a product or a service that a guest purchased through his/her reservation or has been charged during the guest's stay. This could be anything you can imagine.
An important BDI is the breakfast BDI as this BDI has a separate status.
- A breakfast BDI can only be knocked off on the revenue date, if the guest does not use his breakfast the BDI is forfeited.
- Any other BDI can be used from the DCI until DCO even after check out. For example, a 3 nights reservation includes a Spa treatment. The guest can use this treatment any day during his/her stay, even after check out. If the guest wants to avail of the BDI on the DCI, the guest must check in first. If the guest tries to avail of the treatment the day after check out, the BDI is forfeited.
- BDI can apply to G folio as well as S Folios.
If the selected filter is Today Only ='yes' we refer to the BDI with the status breakfast 'y'.
If the selected filter is Today Only ='no' we refer to the BDI with the status breakfast 'n'.
To Knock off a BDI
- Select Today Only yes or no.
- Select the Outlet name
- Select the BDI name.
- You can also search for the room number or the guest name if the result is too long.
- Based on the selected criteria, the list of entitlement will be displayed. Select the row of the entitled person.
- Enter the qty, the qty should be based on the actual usage, if the entitlement is only 2 but 3 people are availing for the breakfast, 3 qty should be entered in the knock off. 1 qty will be charge extra thru POS.
- Click Submit when done.
