Market Segment is the highest hierarchy. Revenues are segregated by sources of income to be able to build appropriate statistics. The most important segregation is based on market segment. A market segment is e.g

  • Corporate
  • Direct Reservation
  • Walk In
  • House Use
  • Government
  • Travel Agent

It is free for the user to define its own market segments.

There are however 2 system-defined segments: These default segments are not editable.

  • Internet   
  • OTA Channel

Remarks: If the status of a market segment is "House Use Yes". Rooms booked under any market segment with a status house use "yes" will lower the actual inventory of the property. 

Adding a new market segment program is "All Property", meaning if you add a new one in property A and you have multiple properties within one group of installations it will also appear in property B. Editing a market segment is "Per Property".

To Add

  1. Click the button "+ Add new Record", type the Segment Description name, and select if it's house use yes or no. Hit Submit or enter when done.


To Edit

  1. Click the "edit" icon and start editing the data.
  2. Click "submit" when done.
  3. Click "cancel" if you don't want to make any changes.

To Search

Select the filter icon and select from the drop-down list.

To Delete (deactivate)

Double check first before deactivating any Market Segment.

  1. Navigate to the Market Segment name you want to deactivate, click "deactivate" button.
  2. Are you sure you want to de-activate this record?
  3. Click "OK".


Show In-active

UN-tick the box to show in-active records.


To Re-activate

  1. Navigate to the Market segment name you want to re-activate, click "re-activate" button.
  2. Are you sure you want to re-activate this record?
  3. Click "OK".
